John Ross Thomas is a multidisciplinary artist, art director, stylist, and performer based in San Francisco.

Rooted in costume and product design, his work moves fluidly between disciplines, including fashion, image making, and performance, guided by a deep sensitivity to detail, story, and transformation.

He is drawn to duality, hardness and softness, minimalism and indulgence, masculinity and femininity. His influences span brutalist architecture, modernist restraint, and his Southern roots, particularly the theatrical opulence of Mardi Gras, where spectacle, ritual, and adornment become a language of expression.

John Ross creates worlds as much as images, garments, and experiences. Whether on set or in the studio, he cultivates an environment of warmth and trust, believing that the most compelling work emerges when people feel seen, free, and fully themselves.
